Wayne Gets A Sunburn

Wayne-Baumgarten-BahamasWell I got quite a decent sunburn. It was one of those windy and cool days, but the sun was still very strong. Debbie grabbed my camera to capture the moment (Its rare that I burn). Buster has burn protection, though I would not like to go around wearing a fur coat in this weather!

Relaxing After a Long Trip

Buster Takes A Nap

As you probably can see, Buster is exhausted after a 3,600 mile car trip travelling coast to coast across the Continental US. I have to say that Buster is the 4th dog that Debbie and I have had over the last decade or two and is by far the most wonderful. He is amazing in car travel. As soon as the car starts moving he flops down and passes out into a deep sleep. As soon as the car stops moving, no matter how many hours later, he immediately wakes up, sits up and starts looking around. He does enjoy his nap time as you can see in the photo. Truth be told all of us were a bit worn out from travelling and very glad to get to our new destination.

Oh No! Wayne & Debbie have gone completely Bahamas!

People are asking- What on earth are they doing?

Well, we had a 6 month lease in Baja California and decided not to renew. The food was great (and inexpensive) and the views were spectacular. It allowed easy access to US shopping and health care providers. And we had a great 6 months there. Really, it was fantastic in many ways.

But in the end, we decided we wanted to try different areas and so while we may go back, we decided to make a change.

Any it was a lot of work let me tell you. When we went down to Baja we took a ton of stuff. A decent sized trailer packed with stuff. So we carefully packed everything up, and we drove it all back up to San Antonio and put it all back in our storage. Quite a gig actually. There was one stop that by chance gave some great photos and I will post them soon.  Then drove cross country again and parked our faithful Subi in Ft Lauderdale.  It was an unreal number of miles. Anyhow. this way if we want to go to Ft Lauderdale or Miami for shopping we will have a vehicle ready to roll.

So yes, it’s yet another change of residence. We will be here for about 6 months.  We are accepting reservations from close friends to come visit. The weather is cool and mild right now- fabulous really.

OK, more posts coming including our new place and latest adventures.

Meantime Debbie and Buster are toughing it out, as you can see here:
